change but I want to walk through this from the lens of one of our students

like how does this impact one student in our program. So I'm going to introduce

So the mission of America's Score Chicago is to inspire young people to lead

America's Score is the most successful grassroots legacy project of the 1994

It grew from one school to a network of affiliates across Canada and the US.

And after quickly expanding throughout the sea with support of the World Cup

US Soccer Foundation provided further investment to create the America's Score

Chicago was one of the inaugural affiliates in 2000, and we have been serving

in Chicago, both on the West and Southwest side ever since.

And so you might be thinking, and maybe you were thinking when you saw our

But something that is so special about what we do here at Score's is that the

So this is our theory of change, and this is what we use before the impact

and as you can see, it's a static PDF that hasn't evolved or to include the new

But the impact framework, thanks to Upmetrics, is going to change all of that.

Yes, we are super excited, and so we took the existing Upmetrics template and

it so that it aligned with this existing theory of change.

Working in the youth development sector, especially within school, we are

swimming in alphabet soup, and things are always changing, and so being able to

the template to keep the language consistent and familiar with our stack and

was a really huge benefit to the framework.

And so what we did here is we took the reconfigured parts of these inputs and

The what dimension was renamed programs offered and included elements of both

We changed quality to program quality and brought in elements from our outputs

And then the better off dimension was renamed near-term impact and focuses on

academic, physical health, social, emotional, and civic engagement outcomes

And we know that sometimes, or almost all the time, we tend to really focus on

and near-term outcomes because those are measurable and what most funders are

And because of this, we can sometimes lose sight of that long-term impact in

And so having the long-term impact column front and center in our framework

remains our Margaret Star and reminds us of where we aspire to be.

And meaningful community impact is our ultimate goal.

This is just a handful of our alumni who have come back as both coaches, staff

and are actively engaged in their communities.

The impact framework will better position our team to understand the steps that

Been here for about two years now, super excited to take some time.

I talked to my man Stephen here, Enterprise for youth has been helping high

age students in San Francisco Bay Area for about 60 years now.

Just helping get internships, helping get job experience and

Who we serve is kind of underserved populations.

So that could be Black, Latino youth, LGBTQ youth as well.

Just people who are not represented in so much the workforce that we're trying

>> So yeah, our main focus is our score right here.

We are super happy to know that we do have youth from even like these

pay from down south a little bit who have heard about us who are now even

an hour to even an hour and a half to work with us.

So it's really an honor to know that we got kind of that reach.

But our main focus is the SF or San Francisco Bay Area.

>> How do you identify young people to be in the program?

Well, first thing we don't exclude anyone.

If you're willing to work and you want this opportunity, we'd love to have you

But my biggest thing is just connecting with kids, meeting them where they're

at lunchtime, at career fairs, basketball games or whatever may be and just

hey, you're looking for a job, you're looking for some money, you're looking to

A lot of times they might not know, you know, again, 15, 16 years old, they

what they want to do and that's okay to work.

You're here to work with them and try to help them find a passion, find out,

>> Yeah, so summertime is definitely our busiest time where we have young

In the fall of time, it kind of slows down a little bit.

But this year, we've been really intentional about keeping as many young people

So with our job-brainless training, we have them about two to three times a
