About the Gini Index
more_horiz
The Gini Index measures the extent to which the distribution of income among individuals or households within an economy deviates from a perfectly equal distribution.


A Gini Index of zero represents perfect equality and a Gini Index of 100 represents perfect inequality. In other words, as the Gini Index goes down, equality and income distribution improve.
